Steve is an experienced trial lawyer and counselor for the firm. For over 20 years, he has successfully represented large and small companies in commercial disputes, including computer software performance and intellectual property disputes, taking several to trial. Steve has also acted as a counselor to technology companies. Steve has expertise drafting and negotiating Development Agreements, Distributor Agreements, License Agreements and Service Agreements, for his technology clients. Steve represents construction clients in commercial disputes and construction defect cases involving development-wide allegations involving drainage, structural failures, swelling soils, code noncompliance and water intrusion. He has tried several construction defect cases. He helps construction professionals mitigate risks by drafting and negotiating strong contracts. Steve has litigated large-scale product liability cases, including attacks against large companies’ core products. Steve’s practice includes defense of large class actions, including successfully defeating class certification attempts. Steve received the preeminent “AV” rating by a leading directory in the legal profession.* The rating reflects the lawyer’s experience and ability as well as ethics, reliability and other standards used to evaluate a lawyer.
